GCE Ocean Technology is an industry driven initiative for the strengthening and internationalisation of business, research and education for its Norwegian ocean technology cluster and is a co-organiser of UTC.

The cluster has more than 120 partners and members within the ocean industries, where 20 of them are start-up companies.

The following four start-up companies were selected to co-exhibit at the cluster stand at UTC:

Pro Well Plan provides a data-driven well planning software, with fully

functioning machine learning models to aid engineers to better well planning. Get to know more about data-driven well planning, how you are able to use machine learning to find relevant reference wells and how to use the entire NCS as your database!

HydPro focuses on the production of hydraulic equipment according to customer specifications. They do everything within design, production, pressure testing and service with accompanying documentation and is well equipped for production, piping, pressure testing and service of most of the hydraulic equipment on their site in Ågotnes.

During 2018, they carried out hydraulic work on 5 rig projects at CCB and on sailing from Namibia to Las Palmas at Deep Sea Stavanger.

Eelume
is a disruptive technology for subsea inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR). Eelume vehicles are basically self-propelled robotic arms whose slender and flexible body can transit over long distances and carry out IMR in confined spaces not accessible by conventional underwater vehicles. The vehicles are engineered to live permanently under water, where they can be mobilized 24/7 regardless of weather conditions. A continuous IMR capability near the subsea installations without the need for surface vessels means greener, safer and less costly subsea operations.

uSEA will display the company’s concept for subsea survey based on unmanned surface vessels (USVs) and autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs). The system allows for a USV to transport, deploy, support and recover one or multiple AUVs without the need for a ship. Being the first to use such concept in industrial scale, uSEA will deliver subsea survey at substantially lower cost, minimised emissions and null risks to human lives.”

GCE Ocean Technology who hosts the stand for the cluster, will tell stand visitors more about their many activities and projects like the Ocean Innovation Catapult that fast-tracks ideas to market and their Scaleup programme which helps companies to expand and grow according to MIT Boston’s principles.
